So finally so long The automobile giant Honda motorcycle and scooters india pvt. ltd. has entered the mass volume segment of two wheelers. HMSI has launched 110 cc motorcycle named Twister.
This must be seen as a strategy to capture higher market share in automobile market and to topple Hero Honda from current No.1 position. Honda has been slow in indian market but is perhaps maximum profit maker in indian market. Along with the profit it makes from its sale of two wheelers and scooters it makes huge profit from licence fee of its engines.Hero Honda uses all the licenced engines from Honda. So right now Honda is having good fortune in India.
Another thing is that Honda wants to sell 12.5 million motorcycle in next fiscal year. If that happens it will become 3rd largest player or may be a better luck and bad year for Bajaj can make them 2nd largest player.Think about that scenario.
Now about Twister it looks really good and upmaket. Fit and finish are Honda trade mark. 9bhp engine has sufficient torque and has decent fuel economy.Honda is claiming a fuel efficiency of 70kmpl.
Priced at 44000 (ex showroom Delhi) it is priced compititively.
